Kelly Bros

Kelly Bros

Disclosure: My month trial of weekly produce boxes was courtesy of Kelly Bros.

Last month, I woke up on Thursdays to a box of fruit and vegetables sitting by the front door, thanks to Kelly Bros. No hauling fruit and veg home from the market – it just showed up like magic for a month.

Kelly Bros are a family owned and managed business, who have been farming in Victoria for six generations (!). They farm, they harvest, and they deliver, with three options for home delivered fruit and vegie boxes.

A small box (that I received) is $28 and is good for 1-2 people, weighing about 6-7kg.

A medium box costs $38, suits 3 people or small families, weighing about 10-12kg.

The last and largest box is $45, weighs about 12-15kg and is about right for 4 people or larger families.

All boxes normally contain 3 types of fruit and 10 types of vegetables, with the prices include delivery. Boxes are delivered before 7AM, 6 days a week – the day is determined on which zone your address is located in.

Wine Selectors

Wine Selectors

Disclosure: Thanks to Wine Selectors for the wine.

It’s interesting how your tastes change and evolve as you get older.

I still remember hating blue cheese.

I still remember hating dark chocolate.

I still remember hating red wine.

Now, of course, I love those three things. Let me at them! Particularly red wine. Yes, bring it to me.

Wine Selectors is Australia’s largest independent direct marketer of wine selling wine online. They have a large selection of wine for purchase on their website, as well as their Chef’s Series range of wines.

The Chef’s Series is a range that Wine Selectors worked on in partnership with some of Australia’s favourite chefs: Alastair McLeod, Guy Grossi, Ben O’Donoghue, Ian Parmenter and Frank Camorra.

The Convenient Kitchen

Roast vegies

Disclosure: I tried a 3 meal menu courtesy of Convenient Kitchen.

Sometimes I find that the hardest thing about cooking isn’t what most people might think.

It’s not the shopping for groceries, it’s not the prep work, it’s not the cooking process. There are times when the hardest part is having to think about what to make.

Some days it’s all too much work. I know I have x y z in the fridge and pantry, but translating that into a meal? SO HARD.

The Convenient Kitchen offers an interesting service – one that cuts out the thinking and the shopping part. Each week they create a menu for 3 or 5 meals, and on Monday afternoons they deliver the recipes and matching ingredients. The meals are designed to be healthy, relatively quick to prepare (within 45 minutes or less) and easy to cook.
