The weeks in brief: 14 October – 17 November
Oh wow hi. It’s been a month since I last did one of these posts.
While I prefer to focus on positive things, honestly the last month has been a bit shit. More than a bit, really. But it’s okay, because life goes on and, even when it’s awful, things get better.
Things that make life better: long cats.
Even better: cat snuggles. Or cats who snuggle EACH OTHER. Cutest.
Also: danishes.
And amazing croissants from Lune Croissanterie. Thanks to Thanh for coordinating a large croissant order last weekend. So good.
Pho also cures a lot.
So do toasted sandwiches and pickles. Best lunch.
Cooking and baking is good too. Not that I’ve been doing a lot of that in the past two weeks because mum is here. 🙂 These recipes will be blogged shortly.
Though I did bake alfajores yesterday and they were AMAZING. Make them make them make them.
That’s all. Thank you.

Sh*t, babe!! I’m here, I’m here always. Plus, part of the benefit of being on the other side of the world is that if you’re ever feeling sad/upset/in need of chats/virtual hugs at ungodly hours of the night or morning, I’m awake when no one else is. Please know you can write to me. Or Skype. Sending hugs. Love love. Amen to pastry, but I can be even better than pastry at good feelings, sometimes. I promise. xoxo

Hey lovely,
I’m so sorry that you’ve had shit weeks?!
You don’t know me, dear, I’ve been following your blog for a while now — please excuse — because I love your photographs, your cats, your account of English grammar;-) … well, I’m an English student living in Austria (yeah, that’s the spot on the map below Germany) and, ahm, you know, if there’s anything I can do to brighten you up — we’ve all had our losses — please contact me at any time.
Surely also for the REAL hints on porky “Stelze” and “Eisbein” and reeeaaaaal dumplings (Semmelknödel, Serviettenknödel, Böhmische Knödel…).
You’ve got my email, I suppose?…
Aaaaall the Best!! Ursula
