Win two tickets to Melbourne Streat Party
Have you heard of Streat? They’re a fantastic organisation that are dedicated to providing homeless youth with education and employment in the hospitality industry. They run a couple of food and coffee carts around Melbourne, and are currently trying to raise money to purchase another cart.
To do this, they’re holding a dinner party – with a twist. On Tuesday 29 November, up to 500 diners will head to Melbourne at 7pm for a 3-course dinner with wine – but where they’ll be sitting down is a secret! But what I can tell you is that over 50 of Melbourne’s most respected laneway and rooftop restaurants and bars are taking part.
More details:
“Streat Party invites diners to submit themselves to the hidden laneways and culinary delights of Melbourne for one mysterious and delicious evening with all proceeds going to STREAT, a charity that provides jobs and training for homeless youth through food and coffee street carts in Melbourne.
A meeting location is provided to guests when they book their tickets and, only after enjoying a cocktail at the meeting point is their secret dining location revealed. There will also be an after party, again, at a secret venue revealed on the night.
Bars taking part include Gin Palace, Madame Brussells, Cabinet Bar, Palmz, Loop, Bar 1806, Sister Bella’s, Pony Fish Island and High Society, while restaurants presenting a signature three-course include Punch Lane, Seamstress, Il Solito Posto and Izakayaden. The infamous Thousand Pound Bend is even creating a pop-up restaurant for the evening.
Diners will receive a signed copy of Flavours of Melbourne, valued at $70, which features photography, local history, street art and recipes from iconic restaurants.
Guests will be greeted with a glass of Prosecco NV from Brown Brothers or a Bulmers cider at their meeting point and can enjoy a selection of regional Victorian wines on the night, donated by wineries from the Mornington Peninsula, Geelong and the Yarra Valley.”
It’s going to be a great party and with all the proceeds going to Streat, it’s for an excellent cause. So if you like the sound of it, head to www.streatparty.com.au for more info. Tickets are limited and cost $150 and you’ll need to book by 24 November.
Win two tickets to Streat Party:
I have two tickets to Streat Party to give away to one lucky person. All you need to do is leave a comment on this post and I’ll draw the winner randomly. Make sure you include a valid email address when you comment – it won’t be published, but I’ll use it to contact you if you win.
This competition will close at midnight this Saturday 26 November, and I’ll announce the winners on Sunday 27 November in my week in brief post. If you’re entering, please ensure you’re actually available to attend the event – remember it’s next Tuesday 29 November, starting at 7pm in the Melbourne CBD.
Good luck! 😀 And check out streat.com.au for more info on the organisation.
