Cookbook Challenge: Week 46, Cup

Margaritas Margaritas

Recipe: Margarita
From: Marie Claire Food & Drink

The theme for the Cookbook Challenge this week is “cup” and I must admit that I have stretched the theme a bit.

My thinking went like this:

Cup = glass = drink = cocktail = MARGARITAS!

I rather like tequila, but I admit that overindulging in it ends badly – I’m sure everyone has a terrible tequila story! I won’t go into too many details about mine (you know the old drill about not posting anything on the internet that you wouldn’t want future employers to see!) but I’ll just tell you that it occurred on a university trip to America when I was 18. We went to Tijuana on our last night, and what I do remember is there was rather a lot of tequila. What I don’t remember is – well, mostly everything else, including crossing back over the border to the United States…

But that was a very long time ago. I’m much more sensible nowadays and have a much greater respect for my limits. Nowadays I’m so sensible that when I made the margaritas for these photos, I delayed drinking them until after I exercised because I knew that if I took a sip, I would be glued to the couch. Talk about grown up. Sheesh!

Now does anyone want to share their tequila story with me??
